About Kristina

Kristina Chang
Z-Health Master Trainer Instructor
P-DTR Practitioner
USA Weightlifting Sport Performance Coach
CrossFit L1

In 2000, Kristina was diagnosed with Crohn’s/Ulcerative Colitis. The only thing that helped her return to some semblance of normalcy was taking prednisone, a steroid medication that is basically synthetic cortisol. She was told that most diagnosed with this condition become reclusive and afraid to leave their homes. Bone loss, joint deterioration, chronic pain, and weight gain are facts of life on the medication she must take, but Kristina has put up a good fight to slow down the inevitable process with consistent training. Confronted with her own mortality, Kristina had to make fitness a top priority, as it was not a matter of vanity but survival. Standing at 5’3” and once weighing over 200lbs due to the side effects of the medication, she began her fitness adventure as a client and eventually became a trainer.

Kristina knows firsthand how daunting it is to begin a fitness quest without the knowledge needed to create lasting results. Discovering Russian Kettlebells, and becoming certified as an RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge) Instructor has been one of the most meaningful personal goals Kristina has achieved. As a result of her own setbacks and frustrations, Kristina learned that pain does not equal gain, and training towards her goals should be fun, pain-free, and rewarding. She became interested in corrective exercise and quality of movement. Following the RKC, Kristina attended the CK-FMS certification, and worked to become a Z-Health Master Trainer Instructor.

It gives Kristina a profound sense of victory and fulfillment to know that she can make a difference in her clients’ lives. A firm believer in the value of education, Kristina devotes most of her time to her continuing education as a trainer. Kristina takes the progress of her clients very seriously, but most importantly, she is focused on achieving healthy change and reaching goals safely, sanely, and productively so that improved quality of life lasts a lifetime.
